TRADER JOE’S PUMPKIN O’S

Welcome to day 24 of Tag Sale Tastes’ Pumpkinpalooza!

On the recommendation of a friend, who declared them “the bomb,” I grabbed a box of Trader Joe’s Pumpkin O’s.  I have to add that Trader Joe’s had an unbelievable amount of pumpkin and pumpkin spice flavored products, including pumpkin spice cookie butter (save me).

As the ingredient list shows, these are pretty healthy, at least compared to oh, say, Pumpkin Spice Twinkies, and they contain pumpkin and cinnamon, and no artificial flavors.

Pumpkin O’s are fat and airy o-shaped cereal.  Depending on the light, they have a slight orange or yellow cast.  You can’t see it in the photo, but they have a sort of sugary sparkle:

Here they are bobbing around in milk like little life rafts:

I wouldn’t go so far as to call them the bomb, but I agree with my friend that they were very good.  I liked their light texture.  They had a pleasant pumpkin-y spice taste, and stayed crunchy for quite a while in milk.  They weren’t too shabby out of hand either.  I bet these would make great cereal bars (a la Rice Krispie Treats) as a seasonal treat.

Rating:  4-1/2 pumpkins (out of 5)
